How goes it Briguy?  Long time, no post (on my part).

Don't suppose that VHS could be transfered to a DVD for all to share?

I don't know if Briguy still frequents this board, but it probably would be him that would have to do it...since he did the taping, I don't want to be responsible for making copies.

2.  Monkey Paw is supposed to be on the new CD.  Dunno when that's coming out (hopefully in time to be peddled at Summerfest) so I don't know if it'll be out in time for your friend's camp trip.

Some of us have been waiting since we attended a special show at the Sports Corner Sports Bar (not the SC Grand, but same owners) in DePere where he did a taping shortly after Sept 11.  That was the night that he debuted "Our Song of Love".  To his credit, there was a special CD in late Sept/early Oct 2001 as a fundraiser for the Red Cross.  Other than that, I could be missing some, but it's been that long that we've been waiting for a new CD.

I showed up at RSR this past Tuesday (July 24)...it was my first show since I saw Pat at the Memorial Union Terrace in August 2005.  It was very weird to not know all the songs, but he did play many that I knew.

Best part of the show:  The woman who created the Sex & Beer dance was there.  I don't know her name, but she is a looker.

But that put me in a memory state, and tried to remember where in the world all of my VHS tapes where.  I found them, and found the tape of Pat at Club Paragon on March 24, 2002.  If memory serves me correctly, Briguy did the filming.  Sarah and Chip were featured at the beginning giving a memory segment about Pat.  It was also the night of the Oscars so Pat was temporally Russell F'ing Crowe.  For those of you who were members of this board back then, you may remember some ripping on a former big time poster on the board that Pat was making fun of that night.
5  Pat Stuff / Messages to other Patheads / Making my return ....... with bad news about our beloved Amy on: February 16, 2005, 10:59:12 am
Long enough subject?

Anyway, I was watching the primary results last night on the news and saw a name flash across the bottom that a few of us here (I'm talking about the veterans of the board) would recognize.  AMY WESTRA.  Anyway, Amy didn't win the primary, but I do wish her the best in the future. (I don't live in her district so I didn't even get to see her name on a ballott.  If I had, I would have taken a pic of it and posted it here)

For those of you who may have forgotten, her web address is http://www.awestra.com

You sir do not make anyone feel welcome to take a chance to give a review. Is your name Pat? or Sarah?

Get your act together.  Saying Lipp doesn't make people welcome to take a chance on writing a review is 100% wrong.  He, singly handedly, has encouraged off-the-wall posts.  If you've ever read his or any of the other Patheads on here you would know this.

Lipp's comment

is not yelling or anything.  Ever heard of sarcasm?  You need to re-evalulate your posts.  It's people like you who scare posters away.

With the newest ones arrival, I nominate a new nickname for Hett:  "Duo Monkey Sitter" or how about "Monkey Sitter x2"

Let's make this a game.  What should Hett's new nickname be?

Is that wrong?

Nope - my department watches them when we need a stress reliever

Paragon has always been a great place to see a show.  Subdued Sunday crowd who are more interested in seeing a good Pat show than getting drunk.

I especially enjoyed a new medley, "Songs in the Key of G", lots of my favorites were in there.

Sorry, although Key of G is not often played, it's an old song.

which would be funny since you were already downtown?

kind of ... actually, technically, that area is 'uptown', since you have to go up to get to the capital, even though regent is still below the hill, it's technically uptown.  'downtown' is technically the area by UW Hospital.

now you all have a little more knowledge of the history of madison ... feel priveleged.  lol

You may even see a Chadbourne Hall show in early May ... or know someone who lives there to let you in for it.

Hwy G is Main St (can you tell I grew up in the GB area?)

I would have to concur, the Sports Corner is a very good venue to see Pat.  You will hear songs there that you don't normally hear (kinda like a Shank show).  I seem to remember a show in Sept 2001 where there was a recording for the "new cd" that would be coming out in 3-4 months.  Well, as we all know, that CD was finally released last year.  Since then, I have been to a couple more Sports Corner shows and one SC Grand (owned by the same people as the Sports Corner and only about a mile away) show.

I have met some of the regulars too, I think a Jay rings a bell ...

Here are some of my reviews for Sports Corner:

15  Pat Stuff / Review a Show / What the Hell happened to RSR: RSR 1-20-04 on: January 21, 2004, 12:12:19 am
I used to love going to RSR shows.  I used to say they rivaled w/ Shank shows.  But seriously, the last few times I've been to RSR, they haven't been that good of shows.  Yes, I know the typical college crowd and changed and maybe since I am 23, I am no longer a part of the 'typical' college crowd...but seriously people.  Do you think the other 100+ people in attendance like you getting up and singing out of tune, making an ass of yourself or whatever else it is that you do weekly?  I am sick and tired of watching people at RSR dance like a monkey, request songs that Pat has played over and over that he goes into a 'medley' of sorts.  I bet that if Pat were to play Nude Party, 95% of the crowd would not know that that song used to end his shows like Sex & Beer currently does.  They are Patheads of the 2003 era - they know nothing and don't know good music when they hear it.  The majority of these people did not grow up in the 80's to even appreciate a 'tribute to the 80's'.

I do have to give props to Greg though - for leaving at the break.

On the plus side, both of my requests got played.  Maybe that was because Pat just wanted to play then at RSR since he normally doesn't.  I mean, when was the last time you heard Thankless Bastard at RSR?

The show, albeit there are some dumb college students which makes me wonder what Corporate America will look like in a couple years, was a good show.  Highlights included, but were nowhere near limited to:  Screw You, Hey Patty, Thankless Bastard, Ruin My Life, Our Song of Love, Chokin the Gopher (mind you, the guy who sang it cannot remember the lyrics), Napoleons Penis (I was very surprised at that and think I was the only one singing), Imagine a Picture, 80's, and some others.

I will return to RSR, but seriously people, get some control of yourselves.  I did not pay to see you just make an ass of yourself, I paid to hear Pat sing.  At this rate, I may have to drive over to Shank once a month (or even the Gasthaus) to see a real show.

Peace Out
