That much we remembered... it was the some sort of alcohol part that has us stumped!

Hmmm... that's tough!  I think all of the shows I went to at Celebrity Club were great - those days definitely have a spot in my heart!
A bunch of us took a road trip up to Reedsburg once - that was pretty fun.  It was pretty much a "Wausau" type crowd, so we kind of livened things up a little.  I think Pat was pretty appreciative of that trip!
I would have to say that my wedding was my favorite Pat show, though.  It doesn't get much better than your whole wedding party lined up doing the "Groovy Thing"
(These kind of questions bring back lots of memories!!!)
20  Pat Stuff / Memories / Re: Where was the 1st time you saw Pat Play? on: September 14, 2000, 10:08:00 am
I first saw Pat at Channel One in Sandburg Hall at UWM.  I was pretty impressed, but still not old enough to play with the big kids and go to bars.  Shocked)
Shortly after that magical day arrived (1992), I too, started frequenting the Celebrity Club.  (Where, I will have you all know, Mark was even then showering his kindness upon new Patheads.)
My most memorable Pat experience was the one and only night he ever played at The Globe.  That was the night I got to meet my very own Pat. Shocked) Yes, I was a little tipsy and still don't remember telling Mark that no, I didn't need a ride...
All these years later, our kids listen to Pat (with some _minor_ editing by us!), know who he is and that he is somewhat responsible for our little family.  Yes kids, Mommy and Daddy met in a bar...

Why, back in my day, I'd stay at the Celebrity Club til after close and *still* make it to my 8:00am class!  Had to walk three miles barefoot in the snow to get there, too... and dog-gone it - I liked it!

It was a beautiful thing to see. ?There's nothing like watching muscians play for fun without worrying about pleasing the crowd. ?Sometimes you felt like they didn't even know they had an audience. ?I would love to see one of those shows again. ?

Billy's got the best advice... cheesy is always good, but the odds are it will be re-gifted.  If you know this ahead of time, you can sometimes have more fun shopping!   Wink

"In reality, there is a reason some have more posts and comments here than others, it is because "DUH" they like Pat McCurdy and his music, and get along with others who also do."

Are you implying that people who post more frequently are BETTER fans than those who don't???
29  Pat Stuff / Messages to other Patheads / Re: John Mayer... Pat protege? on: May 19, 2003, 04:28:58 pm
Um, I don't think it was said that John Mayer is a young version of Pat.  Merely that something triggers a Pat reminder for one fan.  John Mayer actually does have some very clever lyrics.  References to a quick game of chess with a salt and pepper shaker and having a quarter-life crisis are among my favorites.  Smiley
Keep in mind that Pat was once a young 20-something year old newcomer as well.  If Star Search had gone differently that evening, if Pat had some better encounters in the industry, perhaps he would have traveled the evil marketing path of so many others.  Fortunately for us, fate had something else in store.  But don't begrudge the performers who make it the more "traditional" way - good or bad.

Mark, may I give you more to deliver to Pat?  I know I won't be able to get to a show soon to tell him myself...

Happy Birthday, Pat - Hope you have a great day and another wonderful year!

Love,
Pat & Nicky
