1  Pat Stuff / Review a Venue / Shenanigan's in Green Bay on: June 09, 2009, 07:02:39 pm
Love the set up that Shenanigan's has with the stage in the front of the bar although with Pipe Jim set up there it doesn't leave room for the "dancers".  The crowd seems to be a lot of new Pathead with a few seasoned vets mixed in.  The sound is great and who could go wrong with free admission at the May show!!  Great choice, hope to see him there a lot more this year.

 Cool Cool Cool

Well to stick up for my "home turf" I have been going to Sports Corner for going on 5 or 6 years now.  For many of those years you wouldn't go a show without seeing my ugly mug there and in recent years belting out a first verse of Ice Ice Baby.  Yes, I am that Jay. Cool Tongue  In the past shows were a bit small and were not to the standards of most Patheads.  In the past few months SC has implemented a smoke free area in the upstairs area where Pat performs.  To smoke just step out the doors into the hallway and light up.  Food, outstanding! Grin!  Staff, awesome! Wink!  Pat love playing in DePere and choose it as the place to record (Sept 20th, 2001 2 days after my ACL surgery) for the frequently delayed and now titled My World of Love.  The only live song left on the CD was from that recording.  Anyone attending a show here will never be disappointed and if you are, find me during the show, it won't take long to figure out who I am.

ROCK ON!!

If it comes out with red hair singing Ice Ice Baby I have witnesses that I was not in Milwaukee at all in the year 2003 when new baby McCurdy was conceived!!!

I'm going to guess it shows up on Sunday evening will be the day little baby boy is born coming in at a robust 8lb 12oz and a staggering 22" long.

I'll be seeing all you up in the GB area at the May 14th show!!

The first time I saw Pat was at The Bar on holmgren in Green Bay I think in 1998.  It was after a Packer game and I had drank a couple beers.  Sometime in the second set as I was dancing up front I stumbled and fell on Pat's monitor speaker and scratched my arm.

Just to throw in my 3 cents... I don't think Pat doing cover songs is Pat.  His shows are his material based off of real things, based upon cover songs, based on what he perceives the world to be.  I don't think a cover song sung by Pat would be very interesting.

Um, I may be wrong, but I believe the line is "Hey, look at that bug."

Indeedaly doo the line is "Look at that Bug".  First time I heard this was the New Years Eve show at SC Grand and since then I've already been the Mercedes, The Cheese, and The Bug... all I ever wanted to be was a Monkey.. seeesh. Grin

Just about every male on the face of the earth posessed a mullet of some sort in the late 80's or early 90's.  Yes even I, the one with the shaven head, posessed a mullet for many years. Lips Sealed  At time of final removal there was a pony tail of just over 13 inches that was tragically removed.  Cry  It was one of the most horrific days of my life, I remember it so clearly.  Looking back on it now...  WHAT THE HELL WAS I THINKING???  my god did I look like a moron

We've waited over a year for a new CD, what's a few more weeks... wait.. I haven't been to a show in a couple months so it might be out already... Hmmmm... am I losing my touch, nope, just no weekend gigs near Green Bay anymore  Sad  damn I hate the working, responisble life.

Oh my the "Don't you go to Pat shows??" question I always get...   "Aren't you the Vanilla Ice guy from Pat McCurdy??"  My visitation over the past year to the shows has greatly decreased and yet it still happens.  I don't think I've even sung Ice Ice Baby in 6 months and yet last weekend someone came up and asked me, then asked where the hell I've been at the shows.  True Pat Heads remember the other Pat Heads I guess.

For those of us not in the big city of Milwaukee or the area, does the radio station have a live web cast in the mornings?  Like Sarah I'm usually not a morning person but this damn job makes me do it.  Those thankless bastards I tell ya.   Grin
