I hope everyone had a chance to hear Pat on the raidio ths morning. This was part of The Dave and Carole Miracle Marathon for Childrens Hospital. ?As we know Pat's blue guitar is on the auction block with all the money going to help the kids at Childrens. He sang two songs from World Of Love (Opposites Attract and Gambling Man) and "chit chatted" with Dave and Carole about a wide variety of things from his touring schedule to his plans to franchise out Jools (who was with him in the studio) as Pat the second when he gets older! ?Lots of fun!! The high bid on Pats guitar is now $500 which, IMHO, is a steal ! ! !

It was only at $350 before he was on the radio. At that point I was about to jump in on it. I wasn't going to go over $500 so it's past my limit now. I posted this under "Review a Show" as well, but I recorded the performance. Download it here: http://www.billybuerger.com/ftp/music/Pat on WKLH's Miracle Marathon.mp3

Yeah they actually re-played that interview more than once today because I had KLH on ALL DAY at work for over 8 hours and I heard it 2 more times. So, if you missed it at 11:30, you could've heard it again. However, thanks to Billy, once again, you can hear it anytime! OH BILLY!!!!

So who won the famous Blue Guitar, and more importantly, how much did it end up going for?

When I last checked, which was around 3:30 this afternoon, The high bid was $550. I belive this was how the auction ended as this bid held all day long. As far as who the lucky winner is... I don't believe thats been anounced as of yet.

If thats the case, someone got a very good deal. Without the "Pat Mystique" that guitar is worth well over $500.00 so I am now sorry I did not bid I figured it was gonna hit at least a grand or more

I felt it would go for well over a grand. If this went for $550, which is the way it is looking, it's almost an insult... and whoever the lucky person is that won it got a (IMHO) real steel! ! !

Well, yes and no. Pat beat the hell out of that thing over the course of 1500 shows. I don't think it's even in playable condition at this point. It's a nice collectible though.
These auctions are funky. A couple of years ago Pat agreed to do a show in someone's home for the MDA Telethon. That only brought a $550 bid.
It was fun though.

Thanks Murf. . . Also, if you can, try to find out how much the final bid was. I believe it was $550 and if thats the case (as I've said before) I think thats insultingly low ! ! !

The final bid on line was $575.... I really wanted to put in $600, but I figured with buying a house, I shouldn't buy the guitar... I technically could have afforded it...

I was thinking the same thing. I *could* afford it, but I *should* be saving my money for the wedding and stuff. But I also didn't want it to go for so cheap. Damn!
