The Stone's Throw is a smaller corner bar in downtown. Plenty of street parking and easy to find with the directions they have on their site.

The bar is long but narrow, with the stage at the opposite end of the entrance. There are many tables and a small area near the stage for dancing/moshing/standing drunkenly and watching Pat. The stage itself is about waist high, so you can either use the rickety step-stool-thingy or the stairs to the side with very low clearance- either way you could get hurt. The sound is good if you are around 10 feet back from the stage, but it’s hard to hear Pipe’s selections up front because of the speaker setup.

Drinks are average price, but the food (at least curds and poppers) left something to be desired. There is free popcorn, but wait until they pop a fresh batch. The cover is 7$, which for us Madison Crew was really highway robbery, but what are ya gonna do? I never used the bathrooms so no review there- ask Adam if you really want to know.

On the Greg II scale where Feelin’ Fine is lowest and Raging Hangover is best, I give the Stone’s Throw in Eau Claire a Slighty Tired and Dry (2 out of 5). But hey, it’s Eau Claire! -ya can’t have it all in such a happening place!

Seven dollars?!  It's never been that much when I've been there.  I think, anyway--my boyfriend always pays the cover. I heard the last show there sucked.  Well, not the show itself--the crowd, to be more accurate (except for you guys, I'm sure).  Geez, I leave the place and it falls apart!  Wink

So does that mean people can come up to you and say, "Hey, aren't you a big rap-star pimp?"  and you can reply, "No, but I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night."?

Um, please note the dates of the previous postings; we were talking about an entirely different show than the "pants" episode, (which I'm sure was great).  A show that I was told by Pat and Murf both that the crowd was not so responsive.

Unless, of course, pants are removed at every show.  In which case, did you notice that there are firemen poles everywhere???  Wink

Now, now, there's a difference between firemen poles and stripper poles.  Not that I would know...   Roll Eyes

funny... i didn't see a date of show posted in any of the messages...  just an original post date of aug 2004 from the first person posting....  which was last fall.. also a year and a half since Pat started playing in EC again... also for 7 dollars...
