It was a long drive back to iowa at 7:00am this morning, but
last night's show was another great show. I have to say the crowd was lacking a bit,I pretty much expected that at the cabooze, but towards the end the energy seemed to come up. I heard a few songs that i've never heard before which is always great. one thing Pat did, which i've never heard before, was that he switched his "country songs by artists not...." ?to "songs by country artists done in heavy metal" I found it very hilarious, and his spontaneous nature really came through. ?Well hopefully that was enough Pat to keep me satisfied until summerfest.

Tom, Shane, Jen, and Katie, it was great to hang out with you guys again, have fun at Grand Ole' days, I wish I could be there.

I've got to agree with AJ's review.  The crowe was not exactly wild or sexy.  Where'd all the girls go?  I spent most of the night next to Shane's friend who possesses an oversized novelty rack, but that didn't lead anywhere, which is good....maybe!

We need to get back to O'Gara's ASAP.

Pat, as always, was terrific.  Wasn't it wierd hearing "Gopher" in the first 3 songs?  I think next time, he needs to get both Pipe and Murf up on stage to sing background like it is on the CD!  Who's in?

It was good to get Shane "Pacion_man" Rink back at the show.

That's all I've got for now.

AJ - see you when you move up here.

Drums,

I was at the Cabooze show on Friday.  Was a bit surprised at the smallish crowd.  I shoulda ditched the people I knew (well, person and his friends) and moved up front for the first set, but when the guy I knew left between sets, I moved right on up.

Anyhow, still a fun show.  Granted, I suppose I'm a relative Pat newbie--it was only my third show (Five Corners in 1999, O'Gara's in April).

(And what's the deal with the people at the Cabooze walking back and forth by the bar that felt the need to slam into me every time they passed?  C'mon people, I'm 6'5", how did you not see me?  Roll Eyes )

The Cabooze was ...interesting. Not sure if I liked it. Pat was awesome, and it was funny watching the bouncers try to keep people off of the stage. I wasn't able to get up on stage because the big huge bouncer was getting pissed off and I didn't want to try.

Pat was the end of a very cultural day for us. Mrs. MSUSpar10 and I took a friend from California around some of our favorite spots in St. Paul...needless to say this involved lots of drinking. Cocktails at the St. Paul Grille, dinner and lots of wine at the Dakota Grill, followed by Pat at the Cabooze. Needless to say my friend and my wife didn't want to stand up front, but we got a nice table to the side of the stage that was almost as good. Ad a few beers and a couple shots (I didn't know Pat had stopped drinking at his shows and he didn't mention it until I already had them in hand, so I had to drink his, too).

A great show despite the small crowd. The holiday weekend probably had a big part to do with it. Pat sounded great and my virgin friend had a great time. He got his own lap song...the honored ABBA Dancing Queen and we have another Pat convert.

This seems to happen on occasion.  Just like anyone, Pat sometimes get's too much alcohol and decideds to take a brake from all the shots.  But again, just like anyone else, it usually doesn't last long.

It clearly didn't have the electricity of an O'Gara's or a Fine Line, but alas still a great Patty Show.  Sadly I came in like half an hour after he went on and still went straight to the front!  C'mon people get up there and enjoy!  Plenty of fun gettin up there singing into the mic with Patty (poorly might I add).  Can't wait for Summerfest, bunch of us makin the trek Wink

See that guy on stage holding Pat's mic-stand so the sorority girls don't knock it over and is STILL dancing to "Sex and Beer?" THAT'S ME!!!
