Chip:  1)  See ICE AGE
         2)  Ahh, Smoovie Love...the ONION rules!
        3)  I was referring with the wife comment to your
Head East parody("shave my wife, I'm going down...")
        4)  You're a little mistaken when you quote me.

Murf, I use a cricket bat when I beat a dead horse, what do you use?
Seriously, just to be informative to the fans who attend less frequently or who are new:  I said that Pat plots out his first six songs or so to set up the show, and measure crowd reaction.  At the Madison shows and from the Chicago set list posted, you'll be pleased to know that everyone got a taste of songs like "Can't You See That I'm In Love With You"(the opener all week), "Doomed From the Start", "We Made Love", "Love/Hate", to name a few.  I hope many in need of it got to enjoy these oldies this past week.

That's why set lists are cool to post, if you see a song that he played recently that you consider a rarity and want to hear it, chances are that if he is coming to a show near you that week, you'll probably hear it.  It also makes you go, "Oh, yeah!  I forgot about that song" (or for the more knowledged,"Oh, Yeah! 'I can't push myself away from the table...'")  As anyone knows, Pat always takes requests, but under time restraints, doesn't always get to them.  (and unfortunately with hundreds of songs under his belt, doesn't remember them).  Posting set lists show that he's played that song recently and it can be played for your request needs in the future.

BLAH...BLAH...BLAH...BLAH...!!!

Man! I may have tried to stir up controversy with Briguy intentionally, but "g" you really need to be less critcal, please.
That was a fantastic show and it was quite intimate in feel. Although not billed as an intimite Pat show, It was deffinitely in the top 5 of shows I've see in the past 3+ years of going...

I'm not trying to stir things up here, just saying there was way to much debate and critisims over a fantastic review of that show.

Sweetiepie,
I agree, it was very intimate in feel for sure and that's all she was trying to bring across...

If you weren't there, don't try to criticize the review...

For Christ sake, this place is like a high school study hall!

(I understand that I was one of the facilitators of the highschool-ness in the last mess, but I expected more of "g" as he was criticizing me for being child-like before...now he is being petty and way over analytical...)

PS--I've taken off the nasty post in the last argument. It's just not worth it...

PPS-- The cruise was fantastic! And that show was the perfect way to get it started!

There was no tiff, simply Nate trying to cause trouble without cause.

By the way, there was a cause, most just didn't see it, or get it...
That's in the past now...

On the subject of the coining of the phrase "Intimate Pat", an extremely reliable source offers this explanation:

"I think perhaps Pat himself started it; he's been using it as long as I can
remember.  Way back when, he played at Celebrity Club in Milwaukee on every
Wednesday night.  Occasionally, he would also play on Thursdays, but for
some reason there was almost always a lower turn-out for that
show.  Because of this, he was able to get to know just about everyone
there, play all requests no matter how obscure, and goof around a lot
more.  Possibly Pat though he was just "phoning it in" for those shows, but
in my opinion they were the best shows ever."

I would call the Jan 3 show pretty close to this explanation.

After 2/16, I hope you all understand why someone posting a thread that says "Intimate Pat!!" would raise such a disturbance with someone like myself. ?It wasn't a petty argument to me. ?There IS a difference, that warm fuzzy feeling after the show, and I feel horrible that Sweetepie fell ill to experiencing what should be labelled as the best Pat show of 2003 so early in this year. ?Lord knows I'd ever, or will ever, miss an Intimate Pat show when announced. ?No one should.
.   And kudos to Paul representing all the way from Boston during the biggest storm to hit the Northeast.  If not an official clique member, a true Pathead to say the least.

There is no arguing that statement.

True, but (a) The topic has digressed from talk about a good show to what's really "Intimate" and what isn't.  And that's kinda silly.

and (b) I wanted a chance to post that image, and that was the best opportunity. =P
