Well, I have been baptized a second time by the Almighty Pat.  I say that I have been baptized because before the show Pat asked Hett and I to guess his first song.  I said, do you really want me to, and he's like no, just think.  I turned to Hett and said "Tomorrow's Gonna Be Another Day"  Sure enough, it was the first song.  So that is why I was re-baptized.

The show was excellent, even if 75% of the crowd were FIB's.  Just like Pat said, "Summer isn't over until everyone goes back to Illinois."  Isn't that true?

Oh, let's see what everyone missed...a guitar strap breaking on the new guitar during the Riverdance so the guitar smacked the floor (and it broke up by the top)...Some drunk chick who was putting her fingers in Pat's ear during Sex-N-Beer...Someone from Chicago's birthday...1 bathroom w/ 1 stall in it...and, this is a first, the cut-offs were done on the 1st try...prolly more, but Hett will fill us all in.

And oh yeah, I took Lipp's honorary chair...the one with the Super Glue on it.

Yeah, so Kurt guessed the opening song. Pat said, "What should I start with? I bet you can't guess." SO...I thought to myself--wrong! ?BUT...Kurt nailed it. I couldn't believe it. I would've never guessed that one first. I give him props! I told Pat he hit it on the head and Pat didn't believe me. At first......

Anyway, yeah first time ever for the strap breaking on the guitar. Karen got picked on quite a bit tongiht--don't know her--but it was her birthday and her brother Blake just turned 21 not too long ago.
Ok, that woman putting her fingers in his ears... OMG!!! She needed to get a room with herself or something--she was scaring everyone on the stage and in the front row --including PAT-- I'd presume by certain facial expressions. Then she asked me if I was going to be at Buffet tomorrow night to sing Gopher again. I was like, "Ummm, No." "Chokin' the Gopher is a Pat song." She said, "Well Pat's going to be at Buffet tomorrow, and you should sing again." ?I looked at her like this -----> ? :-/ & ?Roll Eyes and said, "Umm, I'm not sure whom you're thinking about, but Pat's not playing at Buffet tomorrow, he has a show at Shank Hall tomorrow night." Then she looked at me like this
Huh? and said, "Oh, nevermind then." ?And then proceeded to talk to myself and others standing about.
Then I felt loved for 5 mintes!! ? ?Wink ?(You had to be there)

Ummm...anything else?? ?I dont' think so.

Other ?than that, it was actually cool in there--for a little anyway. It helped that it was cooler outside, plus they had an airconditioner.

Great show--as always. ?

And Mary, "You rock!" ?(I would've taken you home but I didn't drive--I car pooled.) ?Hope to see you soon. Drive to Paragon next month or something. Get out of Lake Geneva and come visit us Milwaukeeans. ?Grin ?Grin

If memory serves me right, and it may not, (I've drank a lot of beer since then) the last time I heard "Long Goodbye" played previously was at a Shank hall show around Thanksgiving 1998!
Even though it's not on the set list for that time, I seem to remember there were two shows that year, one before Thanksgiving and one after.
I'm certain it was played because I had convinced my dad to come out to that show and when it was played I remember thinking, "What an atyppical Pat song. No, dad, they're not all this depressing."
Anyone know of a more recent instance than that?

Happy Birthday to me! ?Roll Eyes

What a great show... I felt like my family got their own personal Pat show! ?He hasn't picked on me like that in a long time. Not since Lounge Ax, anyways.

Sorry I brought all of my fellow FIB's, but since Pat isn't playing in Chicago this week, I had no choice. (That bastard! ?Wink ?)

...At least I didn't have to sing

Ahhh, that is you, Karen!!   Grin  I wasn't sure if the "Karen" here was the "Karen" at Papa Corey's that night.

Happy Belated Birthday. Didn't your bro turn 21 not too long ago too? Was that "Blaine?"

Your dad is kewl. He talked to me after the show and said that your mom tells him that you're his daughter!! Hehehe
He also said complimented my singing--amongst many others whom stopped me that night.

Hope you had a good birthday. Ya gotta love Pat for that spotlight of fame!!   Grin

Pat doesn't make his schedule. So talk to his manager or to Tippling House (or Beat Kitchen) about that one!!   Grin

Blake (AKA Blaine) is actually not my brother, although he is at my parents house often enough, mooching from their fridge that it's close enough. ?He was 24 that night... the "Real" brother Pat was referring to was Dan, who turned 21 earlier this year.  I have so many brothers that I can't keep 'em straight... I can't expect Pat to!
