Don't make me get the exact distance in miles, feet and kilometers!!!! ? Tongue

I would prefer the length in lengths of a can of guiness...you're a teacher, make this in to a word problem and give it to the kids. ?I'm thinking something like:

The distance between two Pat McCurdy venues is exactly 54.69 miles. ?Patheads, the fans of Pat McCurdy, prefer the distance be given in the length of a can of Guiness. ?A can of guiness is about 6.23 inches tall. ?How man cans would it take to get from one venue to the other? ?
Teachers note: ?please label your answer and give it in a complete sentence

If math class had been more like this, I would've done a lot better.

If Gorno could drink .05 a can of Guiness, without getting drunk, how many cans of Guiness would it take for him to travel from his comfy chair with eyes glued soley to the McCurdy Message Board all day, to a destination close to Cudahy?

And lets say Gorno posts 136 messages on the McCurdy Message Board (far surpassing his idol, Sarah),  in a three week time period, how long would it take him to pass Briguy who has posted for almost a two year period to get to 832 messages, or Billy Brueger who has been cracking at his total for much longer, and how many (offensive content here)less messages would he need to continue to post?

At least he's spelling Cudahy right now. ?By the way, I'm in Cudahy every day. ?I work just south of there. ?And growing up and being in school in Milwaukee, I know the area very well. ?Next, I would like to say that being 6'5" 220lbs. I can handle a lot of liquor. ?Also, if you figure that out, you get an image of a pretty big guy. ?You might want to be careful about who you are trying to pick a fight with. ?I am not a violent person, but I can be driven to violence. ?You might want to start "driving in reverse" for a while briguy, and actually think about what you say before opening your mouth. ?Anyone else that is tired of reading these trivial postings, please say something. ?I don't think some of the people on this message board understand that you all don't like reading these types of postings. ?If you have something to say, write me a personal message and I will do the same.  Once again I appologize to everyone else. ?I hope everyone is well, and maybe I'll see you next Wednesday.

First of all, I'd never give my students a problem like this because it's too complicated for anyone under 5th grade nowadays. Decimals such as these don't come until 5th grade.

Second of all, I teach 3rd grade (or will be) which is why I wouldn't be giving my students a problem like this.

However I would consider giving them a problem like this:

If it takes one accountant to give Kurt directions on how to print up figures for 2002, and 2 accountants to remind Kurt how to read the figures, and 4 accountants to show him where the "ON" key is, how many accountants in all have to talk with Kurt about his job duties?

Are you serious?? I hate word problems! Math is my weak point as it is--most word problems made it that much worse.
I give you props Lip!!

Crudahy!!  YEah unfortunately I'm back in Cudahy. My apartment was just getting too expensive on the Eastside.

You're 220 lbs!!??  WOW--could've fooled me! I would've said like 190-200. I can see the height though!   Grin
