The quality is very good for a bootleg, or "Homebrew" as Mark likes to call them.  From what Mark has told me he recorded from both the soundboard and a mic in the crowd and then mixed them together.  They're better than what shows up in the song of the week usually.  Now the Yipes and Confidentials were ripped from original tapes or vinyl I believe, so they're not so much bootlegs.

They're all very good.  I suggest all of them.  Intimate Pat is a favorite of mine.  I hope this helps.

I also would agree the quality is superb. The Mp3's are decent too. Taking into consideration how these are recorded, and the methods employed, the results are outstanding. Mark has done a great job and I agree with Billy, they are worth every penny if you are a fan. I do not have the Yipes CD's though, I made my own off my LP's. I would be curious to know in those are off the master tapes. Mark?

The Yipes CD is directly off the vinyl.  Last I heard, the masters (or at least, the rights) were owned by Johnny Carson's company.  If you already have the vinyl, you're not missing out on anything.  I started making those before eBay was around and you could easily get your own copies.

Still worth buying though, both LP's will cost you no less than 9-10 bucks a peice if you are lucky enough to find them in good condition, or more as our Sweetiepie learned very quickly. The price of Mark's CD is well worth the investment if you don't or can't get/have the vinyl.

Ten bucks each?  Where are you shopping?  I've found several copies of the first one for under $5 and in decent condition.  However, I'm not quite as anal a collector as some people.

Also, I found my copy of A Bit Irrational at Half Price Books for $1.98.  Unfortunately the cover had some slight damage from being signed by every member of the band.  Ha!

So all this talk got me looking on eBay for Pat stuff.  Someone is selling Faiting with Happiness.  Here's the blurb he used:

- The Pat experience makes you feel like there's a place where you belong, a place where you're comfortable, a place where you can laugh and sing, and no matter what's going on at work or at home or in the rest of your existence, you're just laughing and singing. When your life is in turmoil, there's always Pat. When you'd rather hide at home under the covers, there's always Pat. Pat loves you (it's true!, he says so!) Pat's a very talented performer, and he gives a great many people the gift of community.

Did he get this from somewhere, or did he make this up himself.  I just found it funny.

Replace "Pat" with "Jesus" or the deity of your choice. I always knew Pat was a god!

Anything post-Home For The Holidays would be considered Excellent.  That was before Mark and I had Mini-Disc recorders.

I have Pat for Young People and Intimate Pat. I wouldn't have guessed they were "homebrews" if I didn't already know
