Well, I type pretty fast...:-) Like I've said, I *enjoy* all of Pat's CDs. However, it's just that much easier to enjoy an album when it's produced/recorded well. With Showtunes, my feeling is "these are great songs, and the production really helps them." With Fainting, it's more like "these songs are great, but that *sound* just doesn't quite fit" - it gets in the way a bit... While I'm on Showtunes - I think my current favorite song is You And I Are Just About To Fall In Love. Sheila is just amazing on there, and the song itself is great. I'm thinking I'd *really* like to hear it next week...

My problem with Fainting is that the level is way too high. Whenever I through in Fainting, I get blown out because it's so much louder than any other CD. From looking at the waveform when ripping the CD, I could see that most of the whole song is clipped. I've been meaning to turn down the level on all the tracks. Just haven't done it yet. And it sounds like you guys missed out on the discussion we had before about BBBWOPM and the "Live" tracks. Mark said that they're actually studio tracks. Pat packed like 50 people into the studio to act as the audience. Anyways, just wanted to through in a few observations for ya'll.

No, I remember that. Hence "live" in quotes... I'll have to check out Fainting for what you've mentioned. Yeah, I think Showtunes is probably my favorite Pat CD, at least for the moment. Really a shame that it's not in print...

No, this was trivia to me, I learned something today, any other trivia we did not mention? Always willing to learn...

Hey, lukpac...I appreciate the kind words. An odd thing to see my own name in this discussion. I love that CD, too...I love the sound of it. It's not "tinny" or "thin". It's nothing like seeing him live, but it's wonderful nonetheless.

It's funny you mention the live vs. studio aspect of it. The other day I was switching between Showtunes and some live stuff, and thinking how different they were. One of those "not better or worse, just different" kind of things. The "other Pat" who's not worried about being funny and goofy... BTW, my mom thought you sounded very nice when I had You & I Are Just About To Fall In Love on the other day:-) Too bad you can't be around here to sing it!

I must admit I am fond of that song also but the whole album is good. Nice to see you Shiela and I agree, great job with the voice.

lukpac, your mom thought I sounded nice??? That is so damn SWEET!! I remember Pat saying that his father heard it and he said, "Is that girl smart? She sounds really smart." So funny! We laughed about it. Have a great day.

Ha! Yeah, she's not exactly a huge Pat fan. The "I don't think he should be making fun of Jesus" type of person. "He sure swears a lot." Y&IAJATFIL, on the other hand, was "Is this Pat? I like this. Who's that singing with him?" Of course, if I have Jesus on and my dad walks by he'll say "hey, Jesus, turn it up!" quote: Have a great day.
You too! I still have to wake up, though...

I think Showtunes was the first Pat CD I bought. I friend had it and I taped it - eventually buying my own CD. I still think that is my fave CD. Now it reminds me of driving to Door County and listening to that CD over and over and over... without getting sick of it! You gotta love CD's like that.

Maybe the best CD front to back, back to front. i listened to it twice yesterday in that order on my drive. Brilliant.
I'm thinking if Pat sticks with this for a few more years, he might start developing a tri-state following of some sort.
just watch!
