Okay, I am so against animal violence.  But I had to laugh for a second.  But the "thud" made me cringe.

The "cat fan" is quickly finding it's way to an email near you...

Actually, a little FYI and obscure trivia....that video was in a "fake" ad for Nokia video phones.

Sort of like the fake Puma ads that have been causing quite a stir everywhere..

The jury is still out if the cat in the video is real or not....

Having worked in the lighting business with of all things, ceiling fans, Here are a few things to consider...

What is the cat caught on? Most fans have some sort of hard painted wood which would keep a cat from getting caught or snaged.

Most ceiling fans are not 6.0 Chevy engines. I.E. most fans would bind and stop with a cat hanging from them.

Also notice the fake sound effects in this video.

I have a ceiling fan and three cats at home.  Perhaps I'll try a little experiment later.

Yeah, i heard it might be phony, but what ever it is it made me laugh.
from my experience (and living in a boring small town as a young lad) you can do some pretty amazing (dangerous) things with ceiling fans. Cool

by the way does briguy have to put a damper on almost everything? Huh  Wink

Yes including Furnaces, and Fireplaces Wink

Perhaps a better statement is; "Does Briguy have to reality check everything??"  Tongue

Actually with out all of the scientific data on fans, the easiest way to tell that it was probably fake is that at the last moment the camera pans to the left just as the cat is "released" from the fan...too accurate in my opinion.
hey briguy no offense meant, a good reality check is ok sometimes.

Didn't you notice the "cat toy" or whatever it was that was hanging from the fan?

True, but cats don't usually weight too much and I bet you could get a ceiling fan to toss around a weight about the size of a cat.

What effects?  There's the cat and the people talking.

Considering some of the stupid things that people do, especially to get on TV (Jackass), it's not suprising to me that someone would actually try this.

Does anyone else think that may be a very morbid way to make $10,000?
