Sorry, Mark, I never quite got that one. There's a lot of stuff missing (Drive In Reverse, Jesus, Screw You, Ruin My Life, etc...), and I've never really considered some of those songs "hits" (My Little Soldier, Don't Touch My Sister, Elvis/Elvis, etc...). Of course, my "best-of" CD wouldn't be a "hits" CD. You And I Are Just About To Fall In Love, In Pursuit, Long Goodbye, Tough Life, Paris When It Burns, etc, etc, etc...

That's because you are a young pup, Luke. There was a time that every one of those songs on that CD was almost as big as Sex & Beer. It's an album of "Big Hits That Pat Will Never Record."

Interesting... Although, didn't Pat plan to put Chokin' The Gopher on the next live album?

Not originally. Not even when he did the first five recording sessions for PiP3. It wasn't until after those sessions were done (and later scrapped) that the female verse was added to Chokin' and it's popularity took off like you wouldn't believe.

ummm, to answer this topic...
Toast
Our Song Of Love (first bonus track Studio Version recorded by Pat "for the fans"
Drive In Reverse Wonderland of love This Time Next Year Fall In Love Say Yeah! How A Thousand Times Why Goofy Town Ruin My Life Anywhere But Here One Night In Dreamland Wonderland Of Love Entertainment God (live from PIP 1) She Stood Up Little Pink Umbrellas Everyday Is Christmas Odd Man Out ( live bonus track) Long Goodbye Waiting Song
This Best of would satisfy any collector, fan, and hard core collector such as me who has all the albums (I want them bonus tracks). If you want Sex And Beer, go to the show (it is played every show as discussed earlier in a different post) or buy PIP 2. A best of should be just that, and this one beats that best of from Green Day....

The original set of five recordings were, yes. Due to crowd noise, equipment problems (the RSR recording this was the case... You could hear the guitar going out of tune. And that's ignoring the poping sounds into the mic lines. =P) He started a new set of recordings with the recording show at Shank, and then there was a recording in DePere, at which everything seemed to go as it should.

There is a simple reason you can't do a best of Pat CD. It would not fit on one CD. It would have to be a 10 CD set. So in that case, just buy all of the CD's he has and now you have your Best Of CD.

I do agree, it would be just too hard. Even when you have all the CD's you feel like your missing something because all the unique insight Pat puts into his songs during live shows.
That's why as Mark put on the website, 'Songs you have to hear live' Although I am glad that Mark puts up the SOTW, since Pat usually hits LaX once a month
Now I know it's impossible, put can you imagine if Pat regifted the idea of Pearl Jam and had a CD out for every show. Well although it's not probable one can just imagine my CD collection after a year, plus all those copies of Sex & Beer...

Not quite that impossible, but very labor-intensive. Mainly because Pat plays quite a bit more often then Pearl Jam. Even if you did that with one or two shows a week instead of all of them, you'd still end up with a shitload more.

Maybe Pat needs to set up another website like my buddy the Purple One, The Artist, TAFKAP, whatever. $x.xx amount of dollars a month for a minimum of at least four new songs. Hell, if he wanted to tap into your library alone, he could probably go on for about a year. Hmm, let's see, $5 a month times, let's say, 150 people. That's nine grand for doing just about nothin'! Just a thought. I'm sure there are a ton of people who would love to tap into Pat's little vault of old stuff.
