Just make sure if you go, go early.  Don't get stuck way in back, outside the tent.  I guess that's what happens when you underestimate the Siren's song.

It's the same ol' comedy stageas last year, with few new banners slapped on, and about 1/3 of the comedy. Oh and there are not nearly as many tables as there were last year, which means more people can cram into "da club." There's also a Crawdaddy's booth inside so you can enjoy both Pat and some gator on a stick simultaneously.

I'll tell you all tomorrow how it is...imagine this schedule below, best line-up ever!

7:00pm - Comedian Lewis Black
9:00pm - Pat McCurdy
10:00pm - Moody Blues (sorry, gotta leave Pat early)

...And all this for $5 (cost of Summerfest pin) from noon-8pm!

The venue has improved a little by leaving the tables out.  But all the pre-Pat comedy shows are GONE.

And who can survive a year without the Summerfest, metal bench dance and balancing act of drunk people?  I CAN'T!

I saw Pat at Summerfest 4 times (not enough, I know...) and the best venue was when he did the Pig.  Let me rephrase, when he played the Piggly Wiggly stage.  Even though those shows were during the day.  It was weird seeing Pat at 1pm (which is like, the crack of dawn for me).  It was for sure the soberest I've ever been at a Pat show.  More virgins, less drunks, except on the Friday afternoon show, didja notice the first six or eight rows looked they were under a Nyquil spell.  None of them moved the whole show.  Anyway...

The Hyundai Big Easy club is just too small for true Pat frivolity.  I was in the front every time I saw him there (we bribed people from the show before with beer to hold their seats for us).  That first Friday night was totally nuts.  Almost too nuts to enjoy the show.  Monday night was much better (well, I got to dance that night, too.)  I know this isn't the review portion of the website, but all the shows were awesome, all the usual great tunes.  Plus I got to see my cousin (Sigmund Snopek) backstage!  I felt kinda important for a second or two.  OH, and the security guard that did the Titanic pose with Pat was beyond hysterical.

Summerfest is waaaaaayyyyy different from my usual venues (Shank and Club Paragon), but you do really have to experience it.  I love summer fesivals (another MGD, please), but I also like the (relative) intimicy of my regular haunts.

I miss ya, Broadway!  The only show I was able to make it to this summer was last tuesday, and that was a blast as well.  Everyone looking at all of us stage dancers when we run up from backstage to do La Vida Loca.  Haha.  But I hope to see you very soon!!  Hope things are going well, and how's the job hunt going??  I start on the 19th, ahh!

I miss you, too.  I am doing a lot of free-lancing stuff (babysitting, writing, house-sitting, painting), but I still don't have a "real" job.

I have to miss Shank this weekend, I'm taking my nieces & nephews camping.

Say hi to Miche for me.  Hmmmm, maybe I should do a road trip to RSR tonight?
