One of the most influential singers of the 70's and currently Barry White has died today. We should all mourn such a loos of this gifted singer. I am Sure many Pat songs show influence from Barry White as well as Marvin Gaye.

I had the privelage of meeting him in Vegas a while back. He was doing a show at the MGM Grand at the time (his brothers were there too), and I happened to be in the right place at the right time. He was a very kind and gentle man. Very into his fans. Very respectful. He will be missed greatly.
Barry is an ultimate favorite of my boyfriend. His songs and words mean a lot to him--as they do to millions of others. He has been a fan of his since I can remember.
At least now he is not suffering.
RIP Barry.

There should be a seperate thread for the man who was Jed Clampett and Barnaby Jones, but I don't think we need celebrity death threads taking over Pat's site. To the man, Buddy Ebsen, who could have been the Tin Man, but was the Texas Tea Man instead, rest in peace. But now, the scary thing to ponder...where is the "3" here? Buddy Hackett last week, Buddy Ebsen today...who's next? Buddy Guy? Buddy Bell of baseball (my dad's heart would break)? Or God forbid, Bibleman...Willie Aames, Buddy of CHARLES IN CHARGE fame?!? Or is there a link here with Barry White? Buddy Hackett, memorable voice for animation (THE LITTLE MERMAID), Barry White, ditto for THE SIMPSONS; did Buddy do one too? I almost want to say "yes"...or is this as easy as B-y, B-y, B-y, Bye, bye, bye...don't know, just something to ponder over around the water cooler, I guess. It's a mad, mad, mad...world.
